The guildwars experience of the last couple of weeks can be summed up like this:

So, anyone have any word on what's happening with these lag issues?

I had like 22k lag sometime last week, but it seem to go away. Now it's normal 70-200. But what's up with your FPS? Can you even play like that? Maybe it's time to upgrade.

Yeah... that's about what my FPS looks like on my laptop. Yeesh. Lag of that magnitude is pretty foreign to me, though. I mean, the occasional network hiccup can cause some spikes, but not on a normal basis.

The worse one I saw last week was 47k!

Running around with a H/H team is doable - ish. But forget about playing with people or doing anything but just plain exploring. No, can't play like this.

My system is well over the system requirements this game claims to need on the box. Highspeed broadband connection that is not playing up when connecting to other servers than the GW ones. - So no, upgrade is not in order. This is on the server end, not my end.

When i see lag posts i just can't help but think it's something on that users end. Whether it be on their on pc or their router, or their isp and/or the routing said isp uses. Cause i next to never come close to feeling any of these "severe" lags people complain of. Even on big events/new game releases.

I had 2 massive massive lag spikes yesterday rendering my character useless for up to 20 seconds each time, this was during pvp too.

I get like 80 FPS...

Pings have shot up and down lately. Highest was like 25k for a while, I gave up when I saw that and just closed it down.

Lately though its been better....120's and even lower.

And most the time, it is. For me, it was exceptionally poor wiring in my house when I had it built. Signal strength is horrid, which causes massive delays most of the time. There are exceptions like server-side issues of course, but most the time it is client-side through their ISP problems.

Noting that your stated location is Ohio, US and that the last few reported lag-problems and supposed fixes have been regarding the Europe servers. (For instance the one that made them do a rerun of the last dragon festival.)
As indeed are these.

I play with a usual ping of 400-700 and with a top fps of 15. And, you should believe me, I can play with any problem. And, lots of people say that a damned good interrupter :P

Americans have done their fair share of complaining on lag in various times of late as well.

We actually don't GvG due to at least one or two players each time experiencing 11k+ lag.
This seems to be linked to some ISP (Free here, in France), not all.
What's strange is that ping peaks can appear and disappear one day to another.
The game is currently unplayable for many of my guildies.

My lag problems seem to come and go. Right now I'm having no problems, but during late July/early August I was having horrible lag...one of my pings reached almost 100,000. I just more or less learned to deal with it...take a short break from GW when the lag starts up.

That all depends. A person with a good computer who's used to high FPS and super smooth graphics will probably say that's unplayable. But to someone with a lower-end pc it's acceptable. My average FPS is 15-40. Anything in the single-digits though, 9 FPS or less....forget it. It turns into a slideshow.

I have not played with anyone that has not had lag issue, and recurrent lag issues. Inspite of exceeding system req.s, being on completely different ISPs, and from completely different states or even countries we have all had tremendous lag problems. Ofcourse, this is all our fault. All the line tests by our ISPs, system diagnostics, etc. that come out showing no problems must be lying because support at ANet won't even take the diagnostic they ask you for and use it to find a problem. Simply put - when they can't find a way to blame the customer then the problem must be imaginary. That is my experience.
